"We visited your restaurant on 16 Jan, 2012. Web site clearly states on the menu that service charge is added for 6+ people. We were a 2 and the service was added. The menu on the web is not the same as in the restaurant eg steak includes chips and brocolli on the web but in the restaurant chips were extra! ??3.50 - web says ??2.50. Whoever heard of paying extra for chips to go with steak? We used Tastecard but didn't get the discount expected. The service was mediocre and the food was lacking greatly in vegetables. Decor was nice and plenty of room. An offer of another bread roll would have been nice. Overall, not impressed, expensive and unlikely to return. "

"Last minute booking but we were made very welcome. The Albanian waiter and pretty watress with red hair were very professional and pleasant. Can't fault the food. Each course a delight for the eye and the palate. Can't wait to go again!"

"I have been coming to Freddies for a number of years with friends and family. The service has always been outstanding, Freddie his family and all his staff have always been very friendly and welcoming. This will be our 7th Christmas Day at Freddies this year and i don't intend to ever spend my Christmas anywhere else it truly is a wonderful experience from start to finish. I have also been to Freddies on Mothers day, Fathers day, New Years eve you name the occasion the choice is always Freddies. The choices on the Menu are always great and the food tasty , well presented and filling. Keep up the good work Freddie your restaurant really deserves a gold star. xx"

" Freddies restaurant in St.Albans is my favorite Restaurant , because Its clean comfortable , the Padrone ,is always there for you , and will do his outmost to please you , the food is fresh , cooked to perfection and reasonably priced!! "We went to Freddies 4th Aug 2011. The service was dreadful. It was not busy, no reason for the service to be so bad!! The food was very good couldn't fault that at all, It was expensive but if you have a celebration you don't mind. There were 7 of us and we were charge service charge it was not warrented. Iam lucky enough to enjoy going to several restuarants , but I don't think this one will be on the list Ellen Bowden-Hawkins"

"We spent NYE in Freddies and the evening simply could not have been improved upon. The food, service, ambience, music and atmosphere were spot on. We have been to Freddies several times before and it just seems to get better and better every time. In my view Freddies is not only the best Value for Money restaurant in St. Albans it is probably just the best restaurant in St. Albans"

"We have been going to Freddies ever since it opened....I'm amazed to see it is now 10 years old. We have lost count of the number of times we've been, and the food, service, friendly welcome and surroundings have been perfect every time. What more reason do you need to visit!? And nicest of all, Freddie recognises us every time we walk through the door, no matter how many months or sometimes even years it has been since our last visit! Thank you for many happy evenings. "Freddies is superb. First time there on a date and i felt so welcomed. The staff are so polite and kind, the food was gorgeous, never had monkfish but now i will and often! The whole environment is clean, tables set out well, toilets sparkle clean... Overall i have nothing but praise for the restaurant.... Would definitely go again... "

"Our first time at Freddies and we will definately be going back. Unfortunately wasnt entirely happy with my steak but the staff were excellent and understanding and dealt with it in a very professional and helpful manner. Ive always believed its not about having problems, its how they are dealt with that matter and I couldnt have been happier. Otherwise we had an excellent meal, in pleasant surroundings and pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent value for money. "

"We have been to Freddies many times and always enjoyed it. Sometimes in a large group, sometimes as 2, 4 or 6. The food has always been excellent; the setting is nice - tablecloths, well-spaced tables, flowers; the atmosphere is good - subdued and romantic for 2, but lively in a party. Best of all, the owner Freddie is on-site and attends to all the details, so there isn't that feeling of anonymity you get with chain restaurants. He has even shown us around the kitchen a couple of times - immaculately clean!"

"An absolute joy. This place is amazing. I had heard and read great reviews on it for years, and finally visited myself...and was not disappointed. Service, atmosphere, food and drink...all divine! In fact, it was so great, we went back the next day for lunch. I wholeheartedly recommend Freddies to anyone. The food is superb, the atmosphere cosy and warm and the owners are really lovely."

"Too Baldy_FATSO. Me and my husband have been going there several times, lunch and dinner, and we even organized 3 events there, our wedding, two birthday's. Not once have we complained about anything, the food is spectacular, the ambiance is lovely, and the service is absolutely top notch, the staff are running an excellent service. One of the best restaurants in St.Albans. Not once have we been disappointed. We even recommended friends and family and loved it. Food is FRESHLY made, and if you'd like to go to a bar there is one round the corner from there for pub food, whereas I have found that Freddie's restaurant is a family, romantic and and warmly. The price is very reasonable. baldy_fatso obviously if you believe it is over priced then 'pub food' is well suitable. Our last bill came to ??58.50 which is a fair price for a three course meal me and my husband. I do recommend Freddie's as it is one of the best restaurants i have visited in St.Albans!!"

"I had the most brilliant times at Freddies Restaurant. The food is excellent and it is freshly cooked. Freddie the owner goes weekly to get his own fish and meat from london markets. We been going there for the past 4 years and was never disappointed I don't know what baldy-fatso is talking about I reccomend the Scallops in black pudding and the Warm salad of asparagus to follow the Seabass or the filet steak and is definately value for money"
